The installation is a vivid abstraction of colours that mirror the aura of singer Jennifer Holliday. It encapsulates the very essence of her voice, intertwining with the depths of her soul. As Holliday's voice resonates through her profound, dynamic facial expressions, the singer conducts a dialogue between her body as a vessel versus her body as a vocal instrument. Her voice's resonance goes beyond mere melody; it encapsulates a sincerity in her emotional connection to Love.
By situating Holliday's aura within a CRT TV installation, the artwork prompts contemplation on its audience, positioning, and awareness. As the installation plays without a specific Audience, it compels us to ponder whom the words are directed towards, where our own position stands, and who remains attuned.
The artwork I Love you Jennifer Holliday is exhibited together with Bauhaus-Universität, MFA Kunst im öffentlichen Raum und neue künstlerische Strategien in collaboration with Wohnlabor / Klassik Stiftung Weimar.

Die Installation ist eine lebhafte Abstraktion von Farben, die das Charisma der Sängerin Jennifer Holliday widerspiegeln. Sie verkörpert die Essenz ihrer Stimme, die sich mit den Tiefen ihrer Seele verwebt. Während Hollidays Stimme durch ihre profunden, dynamischen Gesichtsausdrücke vibriert, führt die Sängerin einen Dialog zwischen ihrem Körper als Vehikel und ihrem Körper als Stimminstrument. Die Resonanz ihrer Stimme geht über die reine Melodie hinaus; sie verkörpert die Aufrichtigkeit ihrer emotionalen Verbindung zur Liebe.
Dadurch, dass Hollidays Aura in eine CRT-TV-Installation integriert wird, regt das Kunstwerk dazu an, über sein Publikum, seine Positionierung und sein Bewusstsein nachzudenken. Die Installation richtet sich an kein bestimmtes Publikum, sondern veranlasst uns darüber nachzudenken, an wen sich die Worte richten, wo unsere eigene Position liegt und wer aufmerksam bleibt.
Die Installation "I Love you Jennifer Holliday" entstand im Rahmen des Masterstudiengangs Kunst im öffentlichen Raum und neue künstlerische Strategien.
In this public installation, I was surprised by how passersby were neither affected nor aware of Holliday's repeating singing, played on a CRT-TV, placed on a high pedestal. A woman sat beside the TV for an hour, engrossed in her mobile phone, seemingly undisturbed by the towering structure next to her, nor was she concerned about what was playing on the screen.
The installation was designed so that in the morning, the screen wasn't entirely visible to the audience, yet Holliday’s voice could be heard. As the sun set, the moving image on the screen gradually became more visible. Throughout the day, only one woman showed interest in the TV's content, returning in the evening to view the images.
The performance/installation reflects our culture of interaction in the modern day.
