When Liquid Becomes Form, 2024
Medium: Porcelain
Public Art Installation
Location: Läutraquelle Ilm Park, Weimar
The exhibition showcases 21 handmade porcelain waterdrop sculptures, each representing the delicate balance between fragility and strength. The development of the skill required for porcelain sculpting spanned two years, with each piece reflecting the challenges and dedication involved in the intricate craft.
These waterdrop forms, created from liquid porcelain slip and solidified into porcelain, symbolize the tension between vulnerability and resilience that defines the artistic journey. Much like water’s ability to change shape, the artistic process is one of fluidity, uncertainty, and transformation. Each sculpture stands as an indication of persistence and growth.
Exhibited in Ilm Park, Lauterquelle, Weimar, this installation invites visitors to engage with the sculptures in their natural surroundings.
The exhibition includes two published books: a diary, spanning from January 1, 2024, to May 21, 2024, chronicling the creative journey, and a photobook documenting the porcelain-making process in the workshop.
